Security and Privacy Policy
The security of your account information is very important to the Department of Energy. As such, we have designed this web application with secure access. Upon registration, you can establish your own account name and password. The entered building information and the Quick Building Assessment Tool (QBAT), Asset Score and Audit Template reports for your building will not be disclosed to anyone in original form without your express permission. All building data and messages communicated over the web are secured by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect data transmissions. No information is transferred openly over the web.
Notice of Use
This site utilizes “session” cookie technology. “Session” cookies are used to distinguish one user from another as they navigate through a tool or application; the cookie disappears when a web user terminates a web session and closes the browser. They are not used to save personal information.
The information collected may be de-identified and all personal identifiable information (PII) removed, and then be used for the purpose of internal reporting, research and development, or statistical analysis to improve the effectiveness of the Department of Energy's building tools and energy efficiency programs. The information collected may also be extracted and used in other databases and tools for research, development, publication and/or presentation purposes. The information collected will be treated as confidential and will be anonymized before being used for any future purposes. In all cases, the data will be used anonymously. Such information is never sold to third parties.
By using the QBAT, Asset Score and/or Audit Template tools you agree to the use of the data you provide as described above.
General Information Disclaimer
The accuracy of the “asset score” is dependent on the accuracy of the entered data. The QBAT and Asset Score tools are intended to assist a preliminary decision on whether it is worthwhile to retrofit a building and how to prioritize the activities can rely on the preliminary analysis provided by the “asset score” at a low cost. The QBAT and Asset Score tools are not intended to replace engineering evaluation, and the results are not intended to be used to purchase equipment or materials.
Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration guidelines.
Your rights as an individual user of this web page are governed by the Privacy Act of 1974; Title 5, Section 552a .
The Department of Energy may update the User Agreement from time to time. A notice will be posted on the QBAT, Asset Score and Audit Template tools website along with the updated User Agreement.
